In the present study, the relationship between the duration of playing virtual games and identity commitment was investigated. The statistical sample of 327 women was selected through available sampling method from the study statistical population of all girls aged between 18 and 25 years old at the University of Mulawarman. In order to investigate the duration of playing virtual games, a researcher-made questionnaire called virtual gaming style was used according to research purposes. Also, for assessing identity commitment, the Berzonsky identity styles Inventory was used. The results of stepwise regression analysis showed that the duration of playing the virtual game can significantly and inversely predict and explain the dependent variable of identity commitment. In other words, when the duration of the virtual game in female students aged 18 to 25 years is longer, their commitment to identity will be lower.
