Abstract

The present study is titled “The Performance of the EU Member States towards Asylum Seekers” and investigates the condition of the asylum seekers and the performance of the EU member states towards them. The recent wave of immigration to European countries is so large that it is referred to as the biggest crisis in the European Union. Indeed, the reason for the increase of immigration to Europe is related to the absolutely wrong policies of the West in facing the extremist terrorists of the Middle East like ISIL and other like-minded groups. According to the aforementioned factors, the objective of this study is to investigate the performance of the EU member states towards the asylum seekers. Furthermore, we seek to answer the questions: have the political asylum seekers been accepted by the EU Member States? What actions and performances have the EU Member States done towards them? To achieve these questions, a hypothesis was stated saying that the Europeans had shown the worst performance. This inappropriate performance indicates lack of alliance among European governments. However, the findings indicated that the phenomenon of asylum seeking has practically serious problems due to the lack of executive support such that the EU Member States have behaved the asylum seekers in favor of their own interests. Therefore, the asylum seekers experience various difficulties in most of the countries.
