The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy in reducing the emotional incompatibility of hemodialysis patients. The research method was experimental (pre-test, post-test) using experimental and control groups. A total of 30 hemodialysis patients were selected and randomly assigned to two groups of cognitive-behavioral therapy and control group. The first group received cognitive-behavioral therapy and control group did not receive any therapy. The data were collected using Bell's emotional incompatibility questionnaire (1961). Multivariate analysis of variance was used to analyze the data. The findings of the study showed that the mean of emotional incompatibility in the experimental group was significantly lower than the control group in the post-test. Based on the results, cognitive therapy is effective for emotional incompatibility.
