Abstract

The present study is titled “The Approval Process of the International Court of Justice and Investigation of Its Competencies” that investigates the approval process of the international court of justice and explains its competencies. The occurrence of crimes at the international level is not a new incident; human and the international community have reacted the international crimes at any time as much as possible. The dominant aspect of the international relations in the last century was based on domination, war, and crisis. In spite of the efforts of the human community to establish peace and security, the political power has often overcome the legal rules and provisions. However, it should be noted that the changes in the international relations after the World War II resulted in the rule of law and the rules of the international law were taken into consideration more than before. Owing to such a thinking school, the international community founded the independent institutional foundations for justice in the late 20th century and gifted the statute of the court to the next human generations as a good heritage. But, what is essentially important in this study is the approval process of the international court of justice and explanation of its competencies. As such, the present study investigates the approval process of the statute of the international court of justice and explains the competencies this legal institution is in charge of.
