The purpose of the current study was to investigate the relationship between parents' interactive patterns and parenting styles with attachment styles in primary school children. Descriptive correlational had been used for this research. The statistical population consisted of all parents of elementary school students who studied in the academic year of 2014-2015 in the city of Qasr-e-Shirin. The sample consisted of 200 parents of elementary school students who were selected using cluster sampling method. The instruments used in this study were Hazan and Shaver attachment styles questionnaire, Bamirand parenting and interactive patterns (CPQ). The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between parents' interactive pattern with attachment styles (secure and non-secure dismissive) in primary school children. There is a positive and significant relationship between the authoritative parenting style with the attachment styles (safe) of primary school children, and there is a negative and significant relationship between the lagging parenting style and the attachment style (safe) of primary school children. Also, there is a negative and significant relationship between the authoritative parenting style and attachment styles (non-secure avoidant) in primary school children. There is a positive and significant relationship between a permissive parenting style with attachment styles (avoidance and dismissive) in elementary school children. Parent interactive patterns, parenting styles, and family functioning predicts 39% of the standard variance of safe attachment style in primary school children.
