Andres Campbell, Mary Houston

Abstract

The intensively competitive and the extremely changeable nature of the business world have caused the organizations to be in a constant struggle for adapting themselves to the environment and keeping pace with the other rivals in the competition arena. The organizations featuring a dynamic pattern of doing business are successful on this battlefield. Since innovation and creation of change in the business pattern necessitate the existence of accurate information of the status quo of the affairs, evaluation is the prerequisite to the change. The current research paper aims at identifying the scales by means of which electronic business is enabled to assess its current pattern. To do so, the relevant scientific texts existent in this regard have been selected via making use of meta-synthesis method. Then, after running content analyses, the scales proposed for the evaluation were extracted. In the end, Shanon’s entropy method was applied to determine the scales’ degrees of importance. Based on the findings, scales like “efficiency”, “devotion” and “awareness”, with importance coefficients, respectively, equal to 760.7, 767.7 and 776.7 were identified as the ones with the highest priorities.
