Abstract

Changing the old attitude of managers and personnel of “Whenever it is broken, it is repaired” to the search for the most suitable program can lead to the profitability of economic units. Relying on FGP, the present study seeks to select the optimal strategy for maintenance of the key equipment in the paper industry. Accordingly, for a number of water, oil and pulp pumps in the fractional paper mill have been identified as a collection of the most important equipment of the company. For each case of the failures of the pumps are considered according to the criteria used by the FMEA analysis techniques - the degree of occurrence, the degree of intensity and the degree of detection. The network structure is determined with the help of network-analysis technique drawing and after determining the weights, the optimal strategy for each failure by solving the optimal planning model. The results show that the preventive and predictive maintenance strategy is superior to a corrective strategy in the use of resources and reduction of failures. Thus, these strategies suggest useful information to maintenance managers to limit the negative aspects of a single failure.
