Abstract

In this paper, operating techniques, weakening factors, and some compensation methods in optical fibers were studied. First, we introduce advantages and applications of optical fibers for data transmission. Then, light transmission through optical fibers and their capabilities are discussed. In the next section, different types of optical fibers are introduced, and loss reduction and transmission network are studied. Finally, after evaluation of losses in optical fibers, the factors affecting loss reduction and optimization of transmission are examined.
