Abstract

Induction motors have many industrial applications. For years, there were problems in the use of them due to the lack of control over the speed and torque of these electric machines. With the arrival of drives, these problems were fixed and the application of these motors was significantly increased. The important thing about these motors is that speed of induction motors highly depends upon load torque. So that when load torque is changed, if motor’s torque is not controlled well and quickly, motor will speed up and become out of control. Accordingly, the present study aimed to propose a new strategy to control induction motors using speed estimation. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that using this speed controller enables us to control motor within a desirable range with a very small error. With the use of speed estimator, feedback can be eliminated, speed can be estimated using motor parameters, and controller can control the speed.
